Welcome Go Life Lens®
Between Go Life Lenses® and it’s mirror opposite, Stop Life Lenses®, you self-assess as a Go Life Lens®.
A gentle reminder before we dig into your Go Life Lenses® report: to get the most out of your results, I recommend:
- Approach your results with curiosity not judgement.
- Pay attention to that little voice in your head when it reacts with surprise, disbelief etc. In other words watch where you’re focusing and how you react to your Life Lenses® results.
- Have fun! Seriously. Suffering is optional.
Using Life Lenses® will work best for you when you ditch the natural tendency to look only at the strengths of your Life Lenses® and the weaknesses of the other Lenses. To truly shine look for what the other Life Lenses® have to offer you. I promise it’s a ton!
Go Life Lens® description:
Go Life Lenses® (a.k.a. you!) yearn for action, eager to get going, step on the gas, keep moving. Go Life Lenses® are always focused on your next move, the next step. You are known as someone who gets things done. Someone who is spontaneous, experimental, always up for trying something new!
Go Life Lenses® on a good day:
GoLife Lenses® are geared for action, for doing, for leaping (sometimes before looking). Jumping in, trying something on the spur of the moment are fuel for their active feet.
Need to make a decision quickly? Ask a Go Life Lens®. Need to throw caution to the wind and jump into something? A Go Life Lens® won’t just hold your hand..they’ll push you out of the door, down the pathway, straight into action.
The strength of a Go Life Lens® is their ability to make a decision quickly and move forward. They are delightfully spontaneous. “No, that’s not possible. No, we can’t try that” are not words you’ll hear coming out of their mouths.
They’re the ones who brainstorm ideas for five minutes and are ready to pick one and get moving within ten! Worried about risks? Nah, it’ll be fine.
True story:
I’d been living apart from my partner for four long years. He was working on his PhD abroad and I was raising our kids and running my business in Canada.
It was HARD. As I sat with a kiddo on my lap, watching him practice his spelling words with his daddy over Skype, I knew I’d had enough. I was desperately tired, overwhelmed at being a single married mama, and fed up of missing him.
Then my hubs got an offer to work for the UN in Kenya. A huge decision, for all of us.
For me, the pivotal moment came when we were driving down the highway on summer vacation. The windows were open, the day was sunny, we were all together as a family, and we were headed to a favourite camping spot with some close friends.
With the wind streaming through my hair, my hands on the wheel, it came to me.
My husband had only been offered a 364 day contract with the UN. There was no moving allowance, no education benefits, and absolutely no guarantee that my business would work over there.
Yet I knew in a moment that we were moving to Africa.
And we did. Less than a year later we packed up our kids, our clothes, rented our home, and moved.
That’s a Go Life Lens® for you: take a leap. Experiment. Take action. Let’s try it and see what happens.
You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens. Mandy Hale
Go Life Lens® on a bad day (no worries, we all have ‘em):
The idea of reflecting, waiting, researching, pausing can be downright difficult for Go Life Lenses®. On a bad day Go Life Lenses® can leap before they look …. Only to realize there’s no water down there. Spontaneity can lead to rule breaking, persnickety problems, and being reckless and impulsive.
True story:
There once was a team who wanted to be innovative and design a new beer.
They pushed forward and experimented a whole bunch. “No,” wasn’t in their vocabulary. They had a ball trying out different recipes and thoroughly loved being innovative.
And before long they hit on their winning ticket. A beer that took half the time and half the cost to produce. It was supposed to be their Golden Goose!
Until it bombed.
So what went wrong? In their eager Go Life Lenses®’ness they’d forgotten one key thing. Sure, it was wildly innovative; quick, and less costly to make. But it tasted terrible!
Enter a Go Life Lens® on a bad day, being brash, impulsive and in the end, unsuccessful.
We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal and then leap in the dark to our success. Henry David Thoreau

What stresses a Go Life Lens®: being held back in making a decision or in taking action. They can feel constrained and head into impatient “why haven’t we started yet?” territory.
