SUMMARY:Learning and Development Roundtable - Build your own Learning Organization
DESCRIPTION:Every month\, I host a roundtable that brings together top minds in the learning and development space to network\, learn\, and support each other as we all keep up with the latest in the Learning and Development space and grow our organizations. Join us virtually or in person (at the UN in Nairobi)\, and enjoy access to an engaged\, excited group of your peers along with access to my portal of resources and 5+ years of meetings! \n\nThis month’s workshop is on adaptive management.  We all know that working together\, solving problems innovatively and experiential learning is fun and rewarding for any organization\, but have we realized that playing games and use our hands when building pathways\, structures and solutions will create better end products and services? That creating together and thinking aloud while doing so can allow an organization to achieve better outcomes?\n\n\n \n\n\nAll development organizations\, large and small\, encounter challenges and bottlenecks that prevent them from achieving the highest results and make the impact they envisioned. QED and I have developed a game that can be played by any team in any development organization to solve any problem and design pathways to improve results. \n\n\n \n\n\nThe game – Makusudi (Purpose in Swahili) – is an adaptive management tool and is used by teams in an organization when they need to figure out how to meet challenges\, address problems and find ways to correct the course. It is currently used by USAID in Uganda\, USAID in Egypt and headquarters of development organisations in Washington DC.\n\n\n \n\n\nCome and play the game and have a conversation about how to build an organization that promotes collaboration and learning to allow for course corrections and adaptations. November 8\, 10am to noon EAT.\n\n \n\n\n\nWorkshop leader Charlotta Sandin has 20 years of professional experience in strategy and policy development in public administration and extensive experience in Organizational Development\, M&E and Quality Assurance system management\, including CLA in USAID. Her areas of expertise include Strategy and policy\, Organizational Learning\, Governance\, Political Economy Analysis. A Swedish national\, she now makes her home in Kenya.\n\n  \nPlease join us online or in person. To RSVP please do so here no later than Tuesday\, November 5th COB.  Click here to find out what time we’re meeting in your time zone if you’re not in the EAT timezone listed. \n  \nAnd to receive regular invites & get access to all 6+ years of meeting resources join our mailing list.  Welcome!

That the Swedish people hardly know anytning about us is dangerous. They say that my terrirotory is wilderness\, but this it not widerness. My people have been here for 10.000 years.  It’s my passion to share my culture with others and also what I’ve learned about working to educate others\, often the same people who have historically done the discrimination. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnna’s bio:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnna Kuhmunen\, a traditional Sami (indigenous person from Northern Sweden)\, is the co-owner of  Silba Siida\, an organization that educates people about Sami culture\, traditions and history.  Before she started her business Anna worked for many years for Swedish National TV (SVT) hosting Sami children’s programs\, as well as touring internationally performing traditional Sami singing called Joiks. SUMMARY:Life Lenses® and Goal Setting
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, clients come to me whispering the same secret.\nThey know they need to make a plan if they want their organization to be successful. \nThey know they need to have the processes to implement that plan if they want their actions to be effective. \nAnd yet\, the very thought of planning makes them want to run. \nCan you relate?\nI get it. Most of the planning systems out there work for a very small segment of the population who just happens to jive with them. But for everyone else\, they’re too limited\, too rigid\, too boring\, too complicated\, too guilt-inducing … the very thought of them sends people running. \nBecause let’s be real: you’re busy. You don’t have time to implement some super-complicated uber-plan. You don’t want a generic plan that probably won’t work for your organization\, much less your work style. \nThat being said\, you really want 2019 to be the year you finally get yourself together and start having the impact you know you could with the right plan and processes. Quelle dilemma\, right? \nBut what if you could craft your most effective\, most enjoyable year yet … in just one afternoon?\n(Hint: you totally can.)\nI work with smart\, savvy seekers and meaning-makers on a globally-minded mission to make the world (or at least your corner of it) a better place\, and I can show you exactly how to create a plan that covers all your bases — and leverages your innate strengths. \nThe truth is\, the world DESPERATELY needs more of what you have to offer. I can show you how to carve out some time to craft a year that fits you to a T so you can take off\, jam-packed with both a dream to chase AND an anchor to hold you steady and on course while you chase it. \nThe result?\nYou get out of trenches of frustration\, fatigue\, and flopping about\, shut down shiny object syndrome\, and get a plan and a process to custom-tailor your best year yet. \nYou get the confidence that comes from knowing where you’re headed and EXACTLY how you’re going to get there. (Seriously\, can you feel your blood pressure lowering?) \nAnd ultimately\, you get to dive in deep to the things that matter the most to you — making the world a better place in  your own cool\, creative way — knowing that you’ve got the plan and process to translate all that heart and energy into tangible\, exciting effects. \n \nHow do I know it works? Well for starters\, 100% of the people who have taken the course would recommend it to others. Plus they say lovely things like:\n“The Life Lenses® have totally revolutionized the way I work — everything from my weekly planning all the way up to my yearly goal setting is just so. much. easier. And I feel so much relief knowing that I’ve got a system in place to help me both see my blindspots and really double down on my strengths. \nThe years before I used the Life Lenses® planning method started out great and then descended into craziness. In the years after using the method\, everything just works\, which means that I have so much more time to do the things I really love. SUMMARY:From Overwhelm to Organized; Technology Tips & Techniques to Serve You
DESCRIPTION:Technology is supposed to make life easier … but more often than not it becomes just one more time suck. \nEvery other day there’s a new app or new software “you just have to try!” and you secretly wish everything would slow down — just a teensy bit — to give you time to catch up. \nThink about it: your bank’s gone online\, your kids’ school messages you through Whatsapp\, heck\, you’re even supposed to know how to control the temperature of your house from your cell phone! \nAnd the weird thing is\, everyone else just “gets it”. They seem to pick up on the latest thing with ease\, while you’re still trying to get your head round the last big thing. \nDon’t get me wrong\, you’re not against all of this techy progress — you’re not looking to get back to the time when it took like 3 hours for your dial-up to connect. You just need things to be a little clearer\, a little more … accessible. \nBecause when it comes to technology: \n— You don’t have the time to muddle through “how to” guides that require a PhD-level education to get past the first page. \n— You’re sick of feeling like the only person who doesn’t “get it” — hey\, you’re not that old\, right? You remember chuckling at your mom when she couldn’t work the VCR and now you wonder if you’re turning into her… \n— You’re actually pretty curious to find out what the fuss is all about. I mean\, who doesn’t want to take advantage of things that’ll make life easier\, especially when your schedule is just so darn hectic. \nPanic over\, I’ve got your back!\nI work with smart\, savvy\, seekers and meaning makers like you. Women (mostly) who are globally-minded and who are on a mission to change the world — or at least their small corner of it. Women who aren’t about to let a little thing like a slight(ish) fear of new technology hold them back. \nBecause all of the lovely new tech available to us really is a gift that can help us amp up our efficiency and make our lives sooo much easier. IF we can figure out how to harness it. \nImagine if you could…\n\nFeel capable\, energized\, encouraged\, and confident when it comes to tech. Instead of burying your head in the sand when you hear about the latest time-saving app\, you’ll be lining up to get your hands on it!\n\n\nHave fun as you discover how to benefit from the power of very simple tech tools (Yes I just used fun and technology in the same sentence. I stand by my choice!)\n\n\nGain control of your to-do list. Because life is frantic and you really don’t want to miss out on ANYTHING that’ll help make running your day-to-day schedule easier.\n\n\nReign in those mind numbing\, soul sucking\, repetitive tasks that drive you batty — I’m looking at you\, finance records and diary management.\n\n\nMaster simple tech tools without having to learn a bunch of jargon\, without hours of hard slog\, and without getting sucked into the time-wasting black hole of the Internet (you know\, the place where they keep all those cat videos…)\n\n\nBe more efficient so you can devote space and time to the things that truly matter to you; the unique gifts you have to offer the world.\n\nThere are soooo many free\, easy tech tools out there and I can show you how to harness them effectively\, helping you reduce overwhelm\, make your life easier\, and amp up your efficiency so you can recharge\, reboot\, and (re)activate your superpowers. I’ll introduce you to  uncovered possibilities haven’t even dreamt of; ways of using tech that will free up your time\, letting you get back to what really matters — making the world a better place in your own cool\, creative way. \nIt’s time to set aside the fear that you’re “past it” (you’re really not!)\, or that you’ve “missed the boat”. (You haven’t. Promise). \nYou’ve got this; you just need a little help in navigating all of that lovely new technology. \nYou need to find your way from Overwhelm to Organized. \nHow it works:\n\nRegister by paying $97 USD here to secure your spot.\nThen email the name of the colleague or friend you’d like to join you on the course. Yep\, because I’m all about building community and we all know how great it is to have someone to help you absorb your new skills\, the price above is 2 for 1.\nThen you’ll both receive my bonus primer on how to get the bestest and mostest out of the course (don’t worry nothing heavy\, just simple things to do to get ready to soak up the learning).\n\nBonuses:\nYou’ll get access to the course recording; both audio and visual\, so you can choose which works best for you \n\nYou’ll receive once a week tips and techniques that’ll help you apply all the good stuff you’ve learnt and help you start using your newfound skills.\nYou’ll get access to an online treasure trove of resources; easy peasy\, all in one place ready and waiting for you to access anytime you wish.\nAnd remember you get to bring along a buddy or a colleague (or a colleague buddy). For free!\n\nThe Result?  \n\nYou’ll be able to use free\, simple tech tools that bring bucketfuls of ease and efficiency to your work and personal life.\nYou’ll feel absolute confidence in your ability to install\, use\, and benefit from that new time-saving app everyone is raving about.\nYou’ll find you actually ENJOY using tech tools — as well as appreciating the heck out of the time and energy they save you each day.\n\nReady to find a way to take care of those tedious\, repetitive tasks with ease? Ready to prove to yourself (and your kids\, your partner\, and your colleagues) that you’re not a dinosaur? Ready to embrace new tech with confidence? \nIt’s time to harness the juicy goodness today’s technology has to offer so you have the time and space to focus on the things that really matter to you. Let’s go! \nYour next steps:\n\nRegister right now by paying $97 USD here.\nThen email the name of the colleague or friend who’ll be taking the course with you.\n\nTestimonials: \n— “All these tools- I had no idea about. Fantastic. Thank you.” ~ Here We Are participant. \n— “We had a great workshop filled with a lot of “ohhh”s and “aah”‘s as we figured new and cool tech ways to solve or assist us in being smarter and/or more efficient ways of getting on with our personal and professional lives.” ~ Hanne\, Anita & Susanne\, Founders\, Here We Are\, Kenya \n— “I learned a lot of very useful tools.” ~ Dr.Zhang\, UNHABITAT \nRegister right now by paying $97 USD here.

SUMMARY:Training of Trainers
DESCRIPTION:“The best teachers teach from the heart\, not the book.” \n\nHave you heard that one before? Isn’t that cute? \nNow forget it! \nYou already know that loving a subject and being able to teach it well are two totally different things. That’s why you’re here\, right? \nI’m willing to bet that at least one of these sounds familiar to you:\n\nYou’re burning and yearning to teach but get brain freeze — when you try to teach\, nothing comes out. Suddenly your tongue is tied up tighter than a bank vault.\nThe thought of public speaking gives you literal\, waking up at 2am in a cold sweat\, nightmares (and the old adage of imagining everyone naked is decidedly unhelpful\, and a little disturbing!)\nMaybe you’ve taught before but you secretly fear that\, horror of horrors\, your fabulous content didn’t sink in. It was the glazed eyes of your students that gave it away.\nYou know in theory that it’s important to appeal to all different kinds of learners but you don’t have the first idea how to do that.\nYou’re Overwhelmed (with a capital O) and don’t know where to start. How do you organize your material? How much should you include? How to teach so you’re not lecturing? Do you really have to wear a tweed jacket with elbow patches?\nYou need some quick\, interesting techniques — that are simple but not simplistic — to move forward so you can get up and running quickly with your teaching.\n\nYou’re in the right place.  \nI work with smart\, savvy\, seekers and meaning makers like you. Women (mostly) who are globally-minded and who are on a mission to change the world — or at least their small corner of it. \nNo matter how important your information is (and we both know how hard you’ve worked to master your area\, huge high five!)\, no matter how excited you are about the subject\, if you don’t know how to share it effectively … it might as well not exist. I know\, serious stuff\, right?  But relief is at hand. \nIt’s time to mix passion with strategy.\nI can show you how to:\n\nDip into a vast toolbox of simple\, easy tips and techniques that you can use right away (AKA before your next workshop).\nUse proven methods for designing an effective curriculum\, structuring trainings\, and delivering them in a way that works for everyone in the class (and not just the people who learn like you)\, while encouraging maximum retention.\nConfidently address ANY room and know that you can get your subject across articulately and effectively –– even if right now\, the thought of public speaking makes you want to curl up in a little ball.\n\nI’ll share my top tips and techniques that I’ve honed by teaching more than 20\,000 participants from more than 120 countries\, in diverse settings from slums to the C-Suite. \n\nTogether we’ll pull you out of the trenches of teaching frustration\, fatigue\, and wheel spinning and get you effectively teaching with ease.\n— No more feeling like you’ve totally wasted your time because you can just see the information trickling out of your students’ heads as they walk out the door –– and you know that this time next month they’ll barely remember who you are\, much less what you taught them. \n— No more feeling like you’re banging your head against the wall with the same teaching challenges — the so-called “problem students” you’re struggling to reach or those harder-to-teach concepts that never quite seem to hit the mark and leave your attendees scratching their heads. \n— No more lying awake at night worrying that you’re expending all of your energy on techniques that don’t actually work\, or spending hours trawling Pinterest for teaching tips\, only to find advice that doesn’t really seem relevant to your students or the subject you’re teaching. \nInstead you’ll be able to teach confidently\, be seen\, heard\, and understood while lowering your blood pressure and getting back to what’s important to you — making the world a better place in your own cool\, creative way by teaching your cool\, creative content. \nI’ll show you what to do to make everyone feel included and the steps you need to take to help your students enjoy themselves and engage with the material. Because\, as you know\, when you’re enjoying yourself you find it soooo much easier to absorb\, remember\, and practice what you’re learning so that it’s actually effective long term. \nYou’ll discover pocketfuls of creativity you never knew you had so you can amp up your next workshop\, impress your boss\, your students — and yourself. \nSoon\, you’ll be designing and delivering workshops with ease and grace\, in ways that are super impactful and leave lasting learning.\nLee-Anne has given me superpowers. \n\nLearning about how people learn has been transformative for me – and for my clients\, and everyone else I teach. Now in my teaching\, I know what to do in order to make everyone feel included\, which helps them enjoy themselves\, which – most importantly – helps them learn\, remember and practise what I’m teaching\, so that it’s ACTUALLY effective. We’ve all been to those workshops where\, a month later\, we remember nothing and nothing has changed. \n\nThanks to what Lee-Anne has taught me\, my workshops will be ones that lead directly to people learning\, remembering\, and incorporating what I’ve taught them. ~Marsha Shandur\, Storytelling Coach and Networking Mentor\, YesYesMarsha.com \nHow it works\n\nRegister by paying $97 USD here to secure your spot.\nThen email me with the name of the friend or colleague you’d like to join you on the course. For free!\n\nThank you again for all the resources and your teachings.  I learned so much from you in such a small amount of time and found your workshop so useful and of great value.” ~ Karina Edora \n  \nThe Result?  \n\nYou’ll finally be able to put your energy into designing and delivering effective workshops instead of wasting time worrying about how you’re being perceived as a teacher.\nYou’ll have a bank of proven tips and techniques at your fingertips\, ready to help you design workshops easily\, with minimum fuss.\nYou’ll finally be able to relax with your students and have fun teaching instead of being all up tight and stressed out. This is your passion\, remember\, you want to enjoy it!\nYou’ll have superstar strategies up your sleeve to help turn those so called “problem” students into confident\, motivated learners.\n\nReady to design and deliver workshops with ease and grace? Ready to share your passion in ways that are super impactful and leave lasting learning? Ready to affect that social change you’ve been yearning for with your particular subject matter expertise? Then let’s go! \nYour next steps:\n\nRegister right now by paying $97 USD here.\nThen email me the name of the colleague or friend who’ll be joining you on the course.\n\n“Lee-Anne’s style\, delivery\, and content is wonderfully enjoyable and effective.” ~ Alolan Remedios\, Global Stewardship Program at Capilano University
