SUMMARY:Learning and Development Roundtable; Learning within Volunteering in the Global South
DESCRIPTION:Every month\, I host a roundtable that brings together top minds in the learning and development space to network\, learn\, and support each other as we all keep up with the latest in the Learning and Development space and grow our organizations. Join us virtually or in person (at the UN in Nairobi)\, and enjoy access to an engaged\, excited group of your peers along with access to my portal of resources and 6+ years of meetings! \n  \nThis month’s gathering is all about learning within volunteering in the Global South – individual development vrs social impact.\n  \nVolunteering for Development has gained high rise during the last 10 years\, accompanied by (critical) research and evaluation on its impact. In this interactive workshop guest speaker\, Sonja Richter will take a deeper view on the concept of Volunteering for Development focusing on learning processes of the individual volunteers. Her explanations are based on empirical research results that she and colleagues have undertaken in several studies. \n  \nDepending on the participant’s background we will also work with primary data (interviews with volunteers) or reflect the own\, individual learning processes in similar settings. \n \nGuest speaker: Sonja Richter\, Researcher and Consultant for Global Education. academic career in educational sciences and Latin America studies\, 10+ years of experience in conceptualization of formal and informal educational settings; since 02/2018 based in Rwanda as an individual researcher and consultant; passionate about learning processes and global interconnectedness. \n  \nThe roundtable will take place at the UN in Nairobi\, Kenya as well as online. Please join us in person or virtually (the link to join will be provided later). \n  \nTo RSVP please click here. \n  \nNote: due to UN security regulations you must RSVP using the link above to gain access to the compound. \n  \nSee you in person or online. Cheers. \n  \nPlease join us online or in person. Click here to find out what time we’re meeting in your time zone if you’re not in the EAT timezone listed. \n  \nAnd to receive regular invites & get access to all 6+ years of meeting resources join our mailing list.  Welcome!
