For thirteen sweet years, I’ve been convening folks from around the world for a free, monthly Learning and Development Roundtable on a range of interesting and engaging topics that members have asked for.
Our community is a global group of diverse social change-makers who are committed to learning, making a difference, connecting, and contributing.
Hot tip #1: If you are a UN staff member, all the Roundtables you attend count towards your annual professional development requirement.
Annnnd everyone is welcome, not just UN staff.
Hot tip #2: Did you know that members get access to all thirteen years of Learning and Development Roundtables, including the ones below? So please join us if you haven’t already.
Here’s what we covered this year. And while our last roundtable has been held for 2025, don’t worry if you missed out; there’s a whole bunch of new ones cued up for 2026.
Last week, I covered the January to May Learning and Development Roundtables. On with the summary of what we covered in 2025 from June to December.

Learning W.E.L.L.: Why Learning Is Your Secret Weapon for Thriving in Turbulent Times
June had us diving into your secret weapon – learning of course- and why it’s your super power in these turbulent times.
- Discover why it’s not you that’s the problem; the four I’s of context we’re surrounded by that make learning tough
- Discover why traditional learning models (think universities, conferences, endless webinars) often fail — and what to do instead
- Understand how becoming a learning champion relates to your income and your happiness
- Identify roadblocks, ramps, and “red curtains” that help or hinder your learning
- Map out your personal “Learning W.E.L.L.” – six-step plan to support your learning mindset
- Apples anyone? Reignite your curiosity with this simple but powerful P.O.M. tool to close your “knowledge gaps.”
From What’s In It for Me to What’s In It for Us: Getting Results with Your Personal Operating Manual (POM)
September saw us shifting gears from our own pointed point of view to others’ perspectives. Worlds of possibilities opened up accordingly.
- Explore why so many teams struggle with performance, despite good intentions
- Learn how to clarify your own work style, motivators, and needs (your POM)
- Discover how to use this awareness to reduce friction and improve team results
- Explore how to shift from WIIFM (What’s In It for Me) to WIIFU (What’s In It for Us)

How to make learning (and pretty much everything else) inclusive
In October, we looked at tips and tools for welcoming everyone to the table, so to speak- how to be accessible and inclusive. And why that’s so critical, especially in today’s times.
- Discover your strength and your bias when it comes to your learning style and how to adapt so you include everyone..
- Unlock new ways of seeing, thinking, and acting to bridge perspectives using the Life Lenses®.
- Uncover your S.A.K.E. strengths and biases in order to make your workshops balanced and inclusive.
- Explore a simple but mighty tool to strengthen learning design, none other than the almighty almond.
- Discover some simple trauma-informed tips to build spaces that are safe, inclusive, and effective.
- Understand what drives participants (and you) so learning doesn’t just start—it sticks.
Getting motivated and building healthy habits (especially if you’re lagging and sagging)
Our last Roundtable of 2025 in November had us double down on all things motivation and healthy habits related.
- Discover what motivates you so tasks don’t feel like you’re trying to climb Mount Everest backward, without oxygen. Seriously. This tool is a total game-changer.
- Uncover clues about what motivates others, including your colleagues, in order to bring some ease and reduce conflict.
- Learn the one change you can make to ensure your motivation sticks and actually makes a difference.
- Disrupt your waning motivation with this peculiar but highly effective tool that involves a General and a grid.
- Learn from the work of the best habit brains when it comes to creating healthy habits, including Charles Duhigg and James Clear.
- Pick from a smorgasbord of tools to help you track your newfound healthy habits (paper-based and/or tech-based, as you wish and want).

Once again, I’m so grateful for all the wonderful Learning and Development Roundtable members who participated in 2025 from all over the globe. Thank you!
