What’s your tech personality? Take this 3 question survey to find out

July 30, 2019

In my previous post, How to discover your tech personality (yes this includes you) I wrote about four types of tech personalities.  It’s been a popular subject for workshop participants so I decided to make a quick survey out of it.

Answer three simple questions and immediately find out:

  • Which personality you are
  • How each personality feels and thinks about tech
  • A related animal (to help you remember your tech personality),
  • What each personality needs to know to lift any tech-related anxiety, stress and overwhelm
  • Your mission, should you choose to accept it, in order to move forward with tech.

Tech has magical powers and prowess to amp up listening and …

….research, communication and learning as well as ease and efficiency (which just happen to be the three types of tech tools I do workshops on).

Because we don’t pay attention to our tech personalities, tech also has the power to infuriate us and bring out our inner two-year-old meltdown tantrum.

Once you know your tech personality though you can more easily bypass the difficult challenges tech can bring, and instead bring on the benefits.

So no matter where you are on the love-hate spectrum of tech tools, take a minute and find out your tech personality.  Your future self will thank you.  After you answer the three questions you’ll immediately get your results.

Now go on and learn, laugh and lead.

Learn

The survey is based on the transtheoretical model of change, which I read about in Martha Beck’s Four-Day Win book.

Laugh

Here’s a hilarious example of what can happen when personalities are mismatched.  Check out this ‘Don’t honk at old people’ clip.

Lead

Take the one-minute tech personality survey and share it with your team.  Then chat about the results and how you can use the ‘need to know’ and ‘mission’ from your results to move forward with taking advantage of tech tools.

Spread the love
